Request a Deferment Now!
There are three ways you can request a deferment. Read
through the following three options carefully and select the option
that best meets your needs.
Repayment Wizard
Take the guess work out of selecting and requesting a deferment by
using the Repayment Wizard. The Wizard will ask you a series of
questions related to your specific situation. Your responses to
these questions in conjunction with your CFNC profile information
will be used to direct you to the appropriate deferment request
form. The Wizard will use this information to pre-fill your request
form so you may apply for your deferment instantly.
Request a Specific Type of Deferment
You may request a specific type of deferment if you are certain
that you meet the eligibility requirements for that deferment. This
option is most useful for those borrowers who wish to renew or
extend an existing deferment.
Download a Deferment Request Form
If you do not want to apply online or just want a copy of a request
form, you may also download and print the appropriate form. These
forms must be completed and returned to CFI for processing. If you
have an account with CFI, you are urged to apply online using the
Wizard to expedite the request process.
